Notes on hemp restrictions:
License is required for hemp processors that process hemp for commercial use or sale. A registered hemp processor is not required to obtain a hemp producer license, but must be a registered business entity in Washington state or a foreign entity compliant with state laws. Processed hemp materials produced lawfully under the laws of another state may be transferred and sold within Washington. SB 5367, which was just signed into law on 4/19 would require all ingestible products with detectable amounts of THC (including smokable hemp) to undergo I-502 licensing.
Statute(s):
RCW 15.140.020 et seq.; SB 5367, 68th Leg. (2023).
